We are proud to announce that this year we will be adding a screening of "The Wall" documentary produced by Ricardo Martinez. More information on the movie is provided below.
The Wall is a new, feature documentary about the construction of a fence along the US/Mexico border. Filmed over 3 years, in 3 states, the film captures the impact of building a physical wall from San Diego to Brownsville. Footage includes interviews with border sheriffs, illegal immigrants, a vigilante group known as The Minutemen, and border residents as they deal with the impact of a 25-foot fence in their backyard. For a trailer and movie clips visit the official website at: Thewalldocumentary.com
Serving as a tool, this film engages its audience to think critically about a current policy that has implications in many fields. As it addresses the Social Sciences such as Political Science, Sociology, and History, it also appeals to Chicano and/or Latin American Studies, Environmental Studies, and Civil Engineering.
